A day in London: Brent

“You’ve forgotten the map?” I ask, incredulous.
Timshel shrugs
“I don’t think we’ll need it. I’m pretty sure I remember where Sarah and Tony’s house is.”
In the context of our being lost or stranded Timshel often uses phrases like “I’m pretty sure” and attaches them to phrases like “We won’t get stuck without a room for the night” or “I know where we are going”. Whilst Timshel does have an amazing sense of direction * such reassurances are hardly reassuring.
So after a (fruitless) search for a suitable place to change Reuben’s nappy, we find a real estate agent who provides us with the directions we need-Hooray!-and begin the walk to our lodgings for the evening.
As we walk through the suburbs we spot a sign “Please help keep Brent tidy”. Seeing as we have a friend at home named Brent, we regard this as a brilliant photo-opportunity. Until we remember that our friend Brent is very very tidy. Doesn’t need any encouragement really.
Does anyone have a messy friend named Brent? If so I’ll email you the photo.
*oh by the way, the English nickname for a nerd is ‘anorak’, named after train-spotters who sit for hours on cold platforms recording train-sightings.
